Sgraffito

Plan:

Get a small piece from wedged clay

Roll it out

Cut into a rectangle

Underglaze it

Let it dry

Carve out my design

This piece was fun nice and simple for me. I wasn't unhappy with the end result but it could have been better to me. I could have made the clay bigger so I can make the design bigger and more present. Overall it was a fun project and would do it again.

Slab Structure and Darts

Plan:

Roll out wedged clay

Cut it into a rectangle

Fold together o make a cup

Cut out the darts (Triangles)

fold the triangles together to connect them

make a base to cover the bottom

This was a very fun piece to make. I was pretty happy with the result for how little I had been in the class at the time. If I were to do this again i would make the cup wider and not as tall so it could stand more evenly. Overall it was a success for just starting.

Slab Slump Mold

Plan:

Find the mold I want to use

Put corn starch in the mold so the clay does not stick

Put wedged clay on the mold and cut off the excess

This was an okay assignment for me. t felt boring because it was just cutting clay in a mold and pushing it down compared to when you fully make the cup or whatever with your hands. It went okay it turned out a little cracked. Overall it was not my favorite piece to make but it turned out okay.
