Semester 1 Final
"Red Poppy" by Georgia O'Keeffe
About O'Keeffe

Georgia O’Keeffe (1887–1986) was an American artist who trained at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York, where she learned traditional painting techniques. She later studied with Arthur Wesley Dow at Columbia University, whose ideas emphasized personal expression, abstraction, and design over realism. This approach strongly influenced O’Keeffe’s style and encouraged her to develop a unique, modernist vision that focused on simplified forms, bold colors, and expressive compositions.

Why I chose O'Keeffe

I chose to make a piece from O'Keeffe because I liked the way she paints plants and flowers as well as I wanted to make a flower so it resulted in me choosing her art work to make 3d

Plan
First I wanted to make 3 half circles with the middles hollowed out as my base of each flower. I then out another layer of they clay and wholes for the little details. Lastly I wanted to add 3 petals on each flower similar to the piece.
